Sometimes this verse makes me wonder, but what about the whole concept of "if you forget the past you are doomed to repeat it?"...but there are key words in here that I think help to define what is meant....

do not DWELL

and

making a WAY

So, it's not like forget it as in do not retain the knowledge of where you have been, but don't get STUCK there and render yourself incapable of moving in the WAY God is leading you....look forward to where you are going with Him because He is always guiding you through deserts and He always brings nourishment to you on your journey!  Are there deserts and wastelands?...For everyone....BUT, is the GOD of the IMPOSSIBLE with you?
