Kassi wanted to see the Minion movie for her birthday and Uncle Kent is in town visiting and wanted to see it as well, so we took the whole family. It had some cute and clever moments, but this is not a movie review. Interestingly, the minions were always looking for someone (a villain) to serve and they never felt fulfilled unless they were serving and pleasing someone. There were parts of the movie that whispered to me of our own desires to find our purpose or calling and how many places we will wander looking for it.
The Bible says in Matthew 6:24, "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." I think the verse alludes to a fact that we all choose to serve something.
Most of the things we can choose will continue to keep us in bondage....never allowing us any fulfillment nor a complete sense of purpose.... but, when we choose to follow Christ, treasure and obey Him, He does not treat us as slaves, but calls us FRIEND. That privilege is unlike anything we can or will experience in any other circumstance or situation.
I think that would be a blessing to any minion :) I know it is for despicable me!
