Vannah At Vandy

We enjoyed a Marching Band Invitational tonight at Vandercook Lake High School.  There were about 9 bands performing and the theme of the night seemed to be "FUNKY" :P

Ready for one last "never"? A last never? NEVER! (Right?)...ha! I am in a weird mood!

:)  I enjoyed all the different eras of music represented.  AND, I learned something totally new and insightful.  I sat by Brad's mom....who is a nurse....and she told me that when she was trained to give chest compressions she was told to think of the song, Stayin' Alive, because that is about the right beat interval for the compressions.  I loved that and tried to make a mental note, only my brain decided to only remember how cool and clever it was that it was a song about not dying (which I then connected to the lyrics of the music I was hearing "play that funky music till you die"....which had me cracking up thinking about doing chest compressions to a song like that (I probably should make a new "never" about taking you on a tour of my mind :).....later, I thought..."what was that song again?....I Will Survive?"  I guess in that case you would have to be able to give yourself the compressions....ha!

ANYWAY...That's Vannah on the 30 yard line...she was terrific!

....As was the entire band...it is exciting to witness their improvement every time they perform!
