We were on the way home from gymnastics practice and Danielle asked me to call a family POW-WOW tonight during dinner because she had a special WOW she wanted to tell us about.  She has been practicing a lot at home and having everyone quiz her :)  Today, she tied with seven other kids in her class by spelling all her words correctly....there are 10 kids from her class that get invited to participate in the school Spelling Bee and DANIELLE secured a spot for the first round.....YAHOO!

I love to see all the different things they excel in and LIKE as they grow up! McKenna, Kassi, Danielle, and Karly have all been excited to be improving in their tumbling skills for cheerleading and gymnastics....and Savannah told us a funny story from today in her band class.  She said every one was playing together and then all the sudden she was the only one playing.....so she slowed down and finally said, "don't you guys have notes here?".....it turns out there was an oboe solo in that piece.  The band director asked her to play it today.  I don't know yet if she will get to play that solo when they perform, but it just came out of no where and surprised her....she thought that was pretty funny!

Gabriel's Oboe
(One of my very favorite pieces...  Mom, I was thinking of you on your birthday and thought you might like this song too.)

Lyrics:

Whispers in a dream....the world is quiet and waiting
And all around the air is still and sings the angels

When all is come to pass....the storm has breathed it's last
and the rain has washed our fears away
love will find
Whispers in the wind...the clouds part to let the light in
and all around the people sigh as birds take to the sky

When all is come to pass the storm has breathed it's last
and the rain has washed our fears away
Love will fall on us all
The world will smile again.

Whispers in a dream...the world is quiet and waiting
and all around the air is still....then sings the angels

When all is come to pass....the storm has breathed it's last
and the rain has washed our fears away
love will fall on us all
and we will smile again.
