A Season Of Stories

If you read my blog, you have probably read about a friend of our family, Chris....He went through a battle with Leukemia and, though he is still wading through a few health complications, his treatments cured him of the disease and we have been rejoicing with him.  Sometimes, life throws us as we seek for purposes in our pain, but GOD truly is a GOD of every story!  Today, I received a prayer request via our church's prayer chain and one of the requests was from Chris.  A lady  from Grand Rapids contacted him after seeing his story somewhere on Facebook and realizing he had the same type of Leukemia as her husband was just diagnosed with in September.  Chris was able to share his story with them and encourage them....He knows that God led them to him for a purpose.

One of the songs on Laura Story's CD, God Of Every Story, is called I Can Just Be Me.  I love the simplicity of that.....I make GOD the LORD OF MY LIFE and that allows me to just be me.....not in the "I don't have to do anything now" kind of way, but in the "I can take a deep breath now because GOD IS IN CONTROL" way.  Chris didn't have to do anything outrageous to get this couple to listen to him and to be a witness for Christ....except to let God be the God of his life and be willing to tell his story when God brought him the opportunity.  God brought them his way and is using his story for them as a blessing....I love how blessings fall all over everyone when that happens.

In the middle of all the stories we will hear throughout the Christmas season....Bible stories, Hallmark movies, traditional Christmas legends and fun children's stories.....don't forget you have your own SPECIAL story too!  Seriously, it is incredible and it is unlike any other story.

Here's the song I mentioned above....
I Can Just Be Me
(and so can you.....I hope you are learning to love your story and see it as a blessing!)
