If There Are Strings Attached....Loose Them.

True virtues need practicing.

McKenna's tumbling coach for cheerleading told her something the other day that I thought was pretty profound.  He said about mastering skills, "There are three levels of mastering something, Getting it, perfecting it, then making it look easy."

When she was first relaying it to me, I thought.... "what could come after perfection....this is weird?".  BUT, I thought about it some more and there is a freeing that comes when you decide this new concept is now just a part of you....it's like when you learn to love the thing...you learn it, sure, but then you embrace it.  It looks easy from the outside because you are enjoying it so.....but, that doesn't mean it was an easy skill to gain.

We should be this diligent about gaining virtues....virtues are not about how others respond to us, they are who we are and we should practice them until they are a part of us.
