Ever Lovin' Saturday

You know we kind-of live in Saturday, right?  Overlay the days of Christ's death and resurrection over top of where we are living between his ascension and his return (our resurrection) and we are in the middle....that silent day of processing it all and deciding what we are going to believe.  That actual day was pretty interesting...the disciples hid in fear, they went back to what they had known and they were living in denial and doubt.  I will not judge them for that because we all need time to sort through things and sometimes situations we encounter shake our faith.  I can only imagine what I would have felt or done if I had actually witnessed the DEATH and BURIAL of my SAVIOR.  It's fascinating that the enemies of Christ might have, ironically, been the ones with the most faith on that day....that's a twist we don't talk about often.  But, they were so concerned with what Jesus spoke coming true and trying to squash it that they sealed the tomb and enlisted and bribed guards to spread false stories of the disciples coming to steal the body of Christ.....JUST IN CASE :)  If there wasn't an ounce of belief there, why go to all that trouble?  Both groups were operating out of FEAR.

The thing that is different about our "Saturday" waiting for His return is that we already know the story of Sunday.  We should already be free from the chains of doubt, fear and denial.  WE KNOW THE TRUTH and the TRUTH SETS US FREE.  THE TRUTH IS....

By His life, death, burial, and His resurrection
Christ has proven this to be true.  We are never out of HIS LOVE.

We should be the most contagiously joyful people!  My mom used to love listening to the Carpenters when I was little and so sometimes I hear their songs in my head....I especially get songs that mention days of the week in my head on those particular days....like Rainy Days and Mondays...uhg! :)  BUT, they had a short little song about Saturday too.....Ever Lovin' Saturday.  While I was thinking through this post, that little song of the day entered my mind.  But, we SHOULD be living in Ever Lovin' Saturday.  Nothing should hinder us from that in our relationship with Christ and in our witness to others.  We should be as free with our faith as we are with humming the little melodies that get stuck in our heads.  The lyrics to the Carpenters song are short and sweet and don't pertain the Christ's death and resurrection at all....so I am not alluding to that as a connection except that in the song they mention that Friday was a sad day (for some reason)...I do think, however, that the joyful melody of this song should be similar to the song our souls sing for the love Christ has shown to us.....I think that could be a rather catchy little tune.
