A couple of my favorite pastimes for the July 4th weekend are playing Croquet and catching lightning bugs....tonight we got to do both. We played Poison Croquet in our burned and weedy grass....that was challenging....but I managed to win one game! Then, the girls had some fun catching lightning bugs. Vannah went running and jumping after one and a bat swooped down and ate her lightning bug :) There was quite a bit of screaming, but when she calmed down....she said she just felt really bad for Charles Jr....(that was the lightning bug's name, evidently.)
