Sometimes it IS hard to understand how our hardships can be good for us, but within the scope of God's omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience...nothing is outside of His ability to create goodness. Sometimes I challenge myself to look for the good in situations or find a creative viewpoint to see something in a different light, but there are definitely things in life that stump me...ironically, sometimes I am what causes my own limitation to accomplishing this. But GOD can take ALL THINGS...even those intended for evil... and make them beautiful and holy for those who love Him.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. ~Romans 8:28~
I started working on raking leaves yesterday. I am creating piles for burning what is dead and has fallen. I was reminded of the words to a song we sang on Sunday, "How Firm a Foundation"...the image from this verse was significant to me.
"When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie,
My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply;
The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine."
