Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my voice. let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
LORD, WHO COULD STAND?
But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning
...more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
He himself will redeem Israel
from all their sins.
~Psalm 130~
No matter the depths we have seen....our GOD is a GOD who lifts us up. Not ONE of us is worthy of that. I often chide my daughters when they want to tattle on the others right after they have just participated in the same action....it is a little amusing that we never really grow out of that...amusing in an "are we seriously still doing this?" kind of way. We don't need to tell GOD what is wrong with our brothers....and we don't need to have conversations with others about these things either....we have sunk just as low or lower as the people we want to accuse. If we are going to be any benefit whatsoever to them and effective for building God's kingdom, we are to speak truth in love directly to our brothers or sisters....we are to encourage them in the right way...we are to spur them on toward a closer walk with Christ and ask God how we can bless them. We are to play our song of ascent for them until they grasp onto the hope we have (which is only found in Christ) and determine to compose their own.
