"I Could While Away The Hours"

WHATEVER!  I'm a mom of 5 girls!  I dropped Karly off at gymnastics class and then went to pick up the other girls from their Oz, The Musical practice so I could take them all to AWANAs tonight....it was so crazy, I made them eat dinner (well, their first dinner) at 3:45 pm because I wasn't sure when they would get to eat.  When I jumped out of my van to walk into the auditorium at Parkside School, there was this small mound of straw on the ground in front of my van.  I started laughing out loud because all I could think of was, OH NO....I MUST HAVE HIT THE SCARECROW IN MY HASTE!  There were a couple other moms walking in at the same time and I realized that may have seemed strange that I just started laughing for no apparent reason.  It is in those moments that I realize my imagination has a way of making a fool out of me, so I always have the dilemma of whether or not I should explain what was playing out in my mind that made me laugh.  Today, I opted to open my mouth and tell the story to two other ladies who were walking in at the same time.

Yes....yes, I do. :)  All I got from them were those polite smiles that say, "you are a freak show and I am appeasing you because you frighten me."   Oh well!  My imaginary friends love my funny thoughts.  I have no idea why the straw was there because they weren't even using it yet for any costumes...just a weird coincidence that gave my day some adventure :)

Then, I was talking to a friend at the practice whose daughter is also in the show and we were chatting about the intensity of it all now that the performances are next weekend.  I was telling her we still had another activity after practice was over and she said, "Not us, we're going home."  Without even thinking I said, "Ah, HOME....there's no place like it!"  WHAT!!!?  I HAVE WAY TOO MUCH OZ ON MY MIND!
