Every year at this time, the President and First Lady of Spring Arbor University will invite all faculty and staff employees over to their home for an elegant Christmas Coffee Open House. We always walk across campus and take a shortcut on a sidewalk that goes behind some of the redbrick villages. The sidewalk passes through some very tall pines and there is a lamppost just before you reach the pine trees....today it wasn't snowing, but in other years, when there has been snow....I have felt like that passage past the lamppost and through the pines is quite magical :) I have come to enjoy the President's Open House for my brief walk through Narnia.
"When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty, I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."
~ C. S. Lewis ~
