Today I parked my van and was walking across the street to my office when I noticed I had not parked between the two yellow lines very well :P My thoughts went like this....1. And there's not even a light dusting of snow to "cover for me" 2. Monday, Monday 3. Do I really need to get back in my van to move it over 8 inches? 4. Okay, who's gonna see me do this?.....It may be a simple "rule" to park between the lines, but it has a purpose. I mean, you either park between the lines or ANARCHY (eventually, right?) Our rebellious natures desperately want to be exempt from the rules....that part of us (can I speak for you?...well, I'll just say me) always thinks freedom equals disobedience....free from rules...free from authority....HOWEVER...
So, here's the way my MONDAY parking job played out in my mind according to this concept. Had I not fixed my parking blunder after I clearly knew I had messed up.....I would have thought I might be ticketed....I would have wondered who might be aggravated with me for taking the extra space...I would have known I should have moved it and did not. IS THAT FREEDOM? NO, SUDDENLY I AM IN BONDAGE TO MY CHOICE NOT TO OBEY THAT RULE....BUT, GUESS WHAT?! I moved my van that 8 inches and WHISTLED the day away....I might have whistled "Monday, Monday" for a long while until I could replace it with a different tune...(that is sooooo hard sometimes)...but, still, whistling is good :)
