Bloom Where You're Planted

Brad took the Youth Group, which includes Savannah and McKenna, to Acquire The Fire for the weekend.  I will be excited to hear how it goes....sometimes events like that can have major impacts on spiritual growth.

A lady from a different office at work who always likes to tease me when I go to pick up the mail asked me last week if I ever made May Baskets for people.  That brought back some memories for me because I did do that several times as a kid with my mom.  Mom and Dad are still visiting with us and needed me to give them some things to do during the day, they actually mulched our flowerbeds while I was at the conference in Cincinnati and Dad has been continuing to finish off some trim in our house.  I am thankful they are so generous with their time and efforts toward helping us.

Anyway....May Baskets.  I told my mom about the lady mentioning them to me and asked if she wanted to help the girls make some when they got home from school, so they went to work.  We made the deliveries last night.

It is far too easy to wallow in our own struggles and lose sight that others have their own battles as well.  It was a lot of fun to make the deliveries last night and see the excitement of all the girls who received a basket....but, also the delight in my own daughters who were SO PUMPED to give them out.

This one is random, but was funny to me...Savannah took my picture without my knowledge one day while I was reading a book on my trampoline and I just found it on the camera.  I say it's my trampoline because this is why I asked for it for my birthday two years ago...it is a sunbathing and reading trampoline :)
But, I do allow the girls to jump on it.

  1. Wait a minute, so you actually delivered these to people's door and WAITED for them to get them??? Hmmm.....interesting! :)

  2. Well, we were going to "Ding Dong Ditch" ....or "Ring And Run"....but, the girls really wanted to see their friends :P I couldn't convince them to be like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Stolen Thunder. They need much more training.
