Batgirl Returns :)

Well, I saw that I had a couple more pictures on my phone that I wanted to post from Karly's performance and didn't load last night...every superhero movie needs something of a sequel, right?

Getting ready for her beam routine...I love when they are this little and you see them really trying to focus and forget the crowd.

That is Karly in the middle showing off her back walkover....that is probably her best skill right now.  She really wanted to get the back handspring down in time for the show, but wasn't quite ready with it.

Karly on the bars....after she leaped from the low bar to the high bar....she finally got over her fear of that this year.

Her personal PEP SQUAD...I love that all my girls like to cheer each other on!  I am so blessed that they really don't get all caught up in sibling rivalries....not much, at least :P

This is a picture of Karly with one of our graduates at church, Celia.  Brad used the time machine idea today....he called the names of our graduates and asked them to come up, but these little kids came forward.  Karly played the part of Celia.  He talked about how life goes so fast that it seems like yesterday our graduates were this age.  Then he had the little kids enter the time machine one by one....he made some weird noises while he acted like he was punching buttons and when he opened the time machine door, the graduate walked out (all grown up :).....it was a very fun way to introduce them.

His message was on God giving us "A New Day" and he pulled out examples of people in the Bible who God gave a fresh start...an open door.  It was very encouraging.  We spent time in prayer for all the members of our church family who encountered crisis moments this week.

Then, this afternoon, Savannah had her end of the year Concert Band performance.  Her band director, Mr. Bickel, was at the gymnastics show yesterday with his daughter.  While we were talking with him, he told us Savannah had a solo in the concert today.  She wasn't going to tell us....so he spoiled her surprise, but we were thrilled that she had a chance like that.  This year she attempted to learn the oboe because they were short a few oboe players.  I have been proud of her for trying new instruments each year.  Flute, Saxophone, and now Oboe.  When she got ready for the show in her black dress, she said..."Now I get to be BATGIRL :)"

The last piece for the year was The Dark Knight Rises (from Batman)....and since the trumpet section wasn't too busy....they acted out a few scenes from the movie while the band played in the background.
