....should we consider altering the wording of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"? I am not saying that to be unpatriotic, but what I mean to say is that there is no true, lasting happiness apart from God. Happiness has come to mean our current diversion, our whims, our self-seeking gratification in this moment....but, those are never really enough and there is GOOD reason for that. GOD is the only true satisfaction. That is why I believe a GREAT God who loves us beyond anything we can imagine exercises the right to give and to take from us. Who, what, when, where, why and how He takes... is also a gift if we can learn to accept it by faith.

He is showing us faithfulness by proving that He is the only constant...the only foundation....the only anchor....the unchanging GOD and as He reveals this part of His nature to us He also expects us to imitate Him in it.....to become faithful.
How could He teach this otherwise?
