There's More Than Corn In Indiana

Good news....Brad is through his Bronco-itis.  He said I couldn't really make fun of him until we knew for sure he was going to be OK.  He had one of those moments while riding the mechanical bull that reminds you you are not as young as you used to be :)  The day after....he was still hurting, but he made it to the kitchen for breakfast.  My mom had picked up some Krispy Kreme doughnuts and so he asked me how long he should warm one up in the microwave....I try so hard to be sympathetic, but I said...."eight seconds" and that just totally cracked me up...he is not going to want to hear any more about eight seconds for a while.

He and dad finished the shelf project....yeeeehaw!....shelves for our basement.  Now we just have to get them home and painted black.  They did a terrific job!

See, Dad....I listened to you and did not add a diagonal picture here that would make the shelves look like they were built incorrectly....your carpentry skills remain flawless :)  THANK YOU for your help!

Tonight we had fun with my mom and dad, brother, sister-in-law and niece and nephew...cooking out and playing, what else?  CORN HOLE :)

I love that Kassi is playing Corn Hole in my Show Choir dress from 1993 :) Kassi, remember....
JAZZ HANDS!  Put some flair in that toss!

The peanut gallery...so many different strategies on how to toss the corn bag....where to hold it and how much of an arc to give it....OH YEAH?  You come do it, then!

The "twinkie" cousins...I love Brenna's concentration....see her tongue sticking out?  Karly did a funny today.  We were supposed to go swimming at a waterpark, but the weather was not looking like it would cooperate....so, mom said, "We need to pray for the weather, guys!"  Karly said, "Why do we need to pray for the weather guys?" :)

Kenna, getting too cool for normal pictures (that tongue is not sticking out for the purposes of concentration) ....and Vannah in my Snow White cape.  All the girls always want to play dress up in my old clothes :)

Guess what I read today.....I read from John 6....the part about Jesus walking on the water.  A few blogs ago I talked about God bringing us safe to shore because I love the Rend Collective song and the idea of Him being my lighthouse...but also in John 6 verse 21(my reading from today) there is a description of Jesus getting onto their boat and IMMEDIATELY they were safe to shore on the other side of the lake....pretty cool!
