Enjoying Indian Applesauce

Karly likes to call where G-ma and G-pa Billington live Indian Applesauce (Indianapolis)....well, she used to....she is starting to grow out of it now....so sad :( , but I will probably always call it that because she has given it such a fantastic nickname...I am sure that is one of the things that will begin to annoy my children soon because I say it often....can't wait for the eye rolls to start...kind-a like when my dad would always say Macon Bacon every time we went through Macon, GA on the way to visit my grandparents in FL and my brother and I would just be looking at each other in the back seat as soon as we saw the first sign....timing my dad to the moment he would say it.

Dad and Brad are working on a basement shelf project this week....FUN TIMES!

Speaking of things that annoy my kids....one of my favorite things to say to them when they are whining...."That's not fair!"....is "the fair's in August"...they really hate that for some reason.

We headed to the State Fair today....lots of the kids in Indiana have already returned to school (which I think is kind-of weird since the State Fair is still going on.....but, whatever...), it felt like we almost had the run of the place today :)  Eeeerie.....but, awesome!

My girls were pretty proud of me for winning this pink alien in a shooting contest....I have to admit, I am not bad with the water pistols :) I think her name is going to be Snow Cone.

Brad took on the challenge of the mechanical bull.....8 seconds doesn't seem like much, right?....but, 5.87 seconds later he was on the ground in a heap and he may never be the same.  Yes...we have the video :)  I just have to figure out how we can watch it in slow motion to make it last 8 seconds.

They ALWAYS love the flying swings

Hang Gliding for the first time....all smiles!

We played the water pistol game a second time and Karly won it and picked out this monkey.... I think she will name him S'Mores, but that is still up for much deliberation.

A view from the tallest Ferris Wheel at the fair.....there was another one on the other end of the fairgrounds.  It was festive....very interesting fair food, trampoline tricks, an alligator show, great Bluegrass and Jazz music (some of the Jazz made me remember a song I used to put on repeat forever and ever... Tracy Chapman's, Give Me One Reason) and tons of rides with NO LINES (if that's not reason enough :).

Yep....gotta end this with...Give Me One Reason :)
