If God Is For Us

As a young girl, I was always captivated with horses.  I am not an extremely gifted artist, but I can accomplish some things that, in the end, are supposed to look like a kid drew them :)  Sometimes you just embrace your style and say, "that's what I was going for!" I cannot tell you how many horses I have drawn over the years....I was so obsessed with trying to get a horse right...it was the only thing I would ever draw when I had a blank sheet of paper....or napkin...remember mom!?  My girls love them too...no one is obsessed with drawing them, but they all want one...or two, right!?

I think part of what captivates me is their beauty...part their strength...and part their freedom....

I loved the devotional from Our Daily Bread today... God teaches Job a lesson about His sovereignty while referencing a horse.  The insight is pretty amazing!

Insight from Our Daily Bread
In the midst of his pain (Job 1–3), Job seeks to understand why he has to suffer so much. Instead of explaining why He allowed evil to exist or human beings to suffer (chs. 4–37), God confronted and confounded Job with more questions concerning His creation. Job 38–42 is not an explanation of why man has to suffer, but a revelation of who God is! God reveals Himself as Creator (ch. 38), Sustainer (ch. 39), and Controller of all creation (chs. 40–42). Job didn’t need to fully understand cosmology, meteorology, zoology, hippology, or God’s immutable ways (Isa. 55:8-9). He only needed to trust the omnipotent and transcendent Creator God who is “very compassionate and merciful” (James 5:11; see Job 42:2-3).
