I woke up from a lazy afternoon nap and thought I'd grab a pop.....I sometimes allow myself the luxury of a soft drink on Sunday afternoons.  I saw there was some Dr Pepper behind the Coke, so I was trying to lift it and maneuver it over the Coke because it is my drink of choice.  Well, my spatial relations may need some improvement because I bumped the Coke with the Dr Pepper and sent the 2 liter of Coke to the kitchen floor.  It landed right on it's cap and the cap shattered and Coke started spewing all over everything in my kitchen.  Brad was standing there watching it all happen and I think he was dumbfounded at what he was witnessing.

They say....
:P

Well, I guess I will be starting my Spring cleaning tonight....I am waiting for the first round of steam cleaning the floor to dry to see if I need a second round and I get to wipe down all the cabinets and appliances.

When We Pray For Rain

This is one of those pictures that doesn't need words.  I am so thankful for fresh starts!  Spring always reminds me of that as the earth responds to the rains and warmth, but ultimately, it is only in Christ that we find this renewal in our heart, mind, soul, and spirit.

The people Brad had lined up for music are not able to sing, so I was looking for something to sing  late in the evening last night....and with losing an hour, it was even later.  I was going through older songs that I used to LOVE belting out in my car and came across a Stacie Orrico song that I never sang because it intimidated me....Strong Enough.  I thought, you know what... I am just gonna try this for tomorrow.  I started practicing it and then the words really got to me and I just had one of those piercing moments of understanding....and remembering.....and gratefulness.....a good spirit drenching.

AWANA License To Drive

(I had to do a title mashup today :)

Watch out Jackson County....Savannah went behind the wheel today for the first time.  Overall she did well, except for introducing the tires to a curb by cutting a turn a little too close.  I was not in the backseat, it was her friend Miranda who took this wonderful picture....though I threatened her that I may follow her just to video her first driving experience :P  I told her to try not to make the instructor use the emergency brake on the other side of the car, but she said the instructor did that twice :P

After I dropped her off for her drive today, I took the other girls to the AWANA games.

The Sparks singing their Sparky song....glad Karly was feeling well enough to participate.

Both the Sparks and TNT teams took second place in the games today.  Great job, VHC!

Why Yes, I Am Feeling Festive

We enjoyed Western High School's band festival performances tonight!  The Western Middle School performed earlier in the day, so we weren't able to get there in time, but Grandma Foster went to show her support for McKenna and her band.

Vannah, peeking at me before their sight reading evaluation.....I LOVE THE SIGHT READING part...the anticipation!

The shirt the girls wanted me to buy for myself....I am not sure if they meant I need a time out?  Isn't it ironic when you "book" someone....you READ them their rights....I think the guy on this shirt (or girl, I guess....they ARE stick figures and there are no eyelashes :) has the right to remain SILENT.

Happy girls....both of their bands got 1's :)

:( BUT, all the vending machines were empty....Vannah took a picture to make meme's out of it....what would you say on a completely empty vending machine picture?

Wendy's FROSTIES it is!

Have a SUPER DUPER weekend!

I went to my second kettlebell workout.  Savannah has been encouraged by her track coach to go, so I am trying to join her.  I missed a couple weeks because of work and a school concert and Savannah said the fitness instructor was asking about me.....haha....I must have made an impression my first time....I think in her mind I am her little project :)  I always feel like I am decently strong, but then I go to kettlebell and feel like the weakest person EVER.  Yeah, I'll just go over there and pick up that kettlebell.....and then.....

I traveled to Howell, MI tonight to talk to some families about Dual Enrollment.  Out of six families I met with individually, three moms were named Heather....that took me back to 5th grade.  In fifth grade, I was in a classroom with 5 Heathers. :)  I think that must have been the most popular girl baby name for 1976...I am going to check on that :P  By the time I went to college, I was tired of being one of so many, so I tried to break from my first name cold turkey (now that would be an interesting first name)....I tried to get people to start calling me Brianna, my middle name.

Unfortunately, some other people from college knew me as Heather and I wasn't so great at responding to my new first name even though I was telling people that was my name...ha!, so it didn't take.   All the Heathers I met tonight brought that whole memory back to me and had me laughing on the way home.

It was fun to be on the road again...meeting people and talking with them about higher education.
