This part is just for fun....this was the first thing I thought of for the topic of pride.....It's Friday! :)

I had to write a paper for a Bible class in college on The Parable of the Persistent Widow. She realized her helpless state and that her fate was completely in the hands of the unrighteous judge. She pleaded her case before him and would not give up begging. Eventually, she was granted justice. That was such a weird parable....I kept thinking, "Why is this comparing an unrighteous judge to God?" and "how am I supposed to write a paper on this?" But, that wasn't the point....the point was that we need to put our pride aside like the widow. In this story, the judge didn't love the widow at all....but, the widow was willing to do whatever it took for justice...in essence, she TRULY LOVED justice...she sought it with abandon. The story portrays the way we should approach our prayer life...not allowing our pride to stop us from pleading with God for the burdens on our hearts.
In this case the object of her love was not a single person, but justice....I think sometimes it is easier for us to think about loving one person in a crisis moment than it is concepts such as justice, freedom, truth....what about salvation and redemption?....these are not necessarily people, but they all affect the people we love and are worthy of a good fight and earnest prayer.

It's like love says, "I would do anything for you!"
but our pride adds, "some restrictions may apply."
A love like God's shows no bounds.
A love like God's shows no bounds.
See why TRUE
Love Is Not Proud
