God can perform a miracle in any way He wishes....He doesn't even have to wish, really, because as soon as HE SPEAKS, the thing IS. BUT, He seems to prefer bringing about the supernatural through the means of the natural in many cases. He chooses to allow miracles to depend on our faithfulness....isn't that outrageous?....are we really to be trusted with that? I am thinking about the stories where God took some fish and bread and fed the whole group of people gathered there and had lots of leftovers for others. Don't you think with HIS knowledge he could have fed the exact number in that crowd and everyone would have been amazed that HE could count that accurately?....I mean, Brad and I think it is awesome when we pull exactly 7 paper plates out of the cupboard (the precise amount for our family)...like we are psychic or something like that :) "Look at that....exactly 7, I am getting good at this!" NO, I think the amount of abundance speaks volumes to us about what a little generosity on our part means to our INCREDIBLY GENEROUS GOD!
OK, I apologize to all the intellectuals who read my blog who will undoubtedly ROLL their eyes at this....haha!... BUT, if you were hungry and someone gave you some bread, what would you do?
.....A BUN DANCE.....
(I just saw that when I typed that word above).
So, why the title Stinkin' and Crumby?
SOOOOOO many times we are presented with an opportunity to give....of talents, time, money...or spiritual gifts and we think either someone else has more....or better....or we can't....whatever...we all have our "excuses"....sometimes, we look at what we have and think it stinks or it's crumby and we don't want to embarrass ourselves by showing it to people or letting GOD (of all non-people) use it. I LOVE IT SO MUCH that the boy gave his "stinkin'" fish and "crumby" bread to Jesus....the point is, the boy gave what he had.
(No, I am not saying to give GOD junk....
just give Him what you have because, in His hands, nothing is junk.)
OUR GOD can take whatever it is, use it, and multiply it.
Aren't you a little curious what HE could do with you? Just give.....you'll see.
