If You Build It

Brad has been working on making a 9 Square In The Air game for our youth group.  He got all the PVC pieces cut to the right lengths and the connector pieces purchased....then took everything tonight so the youth could help him assemble it.

That was quite a project....."everyone lift at the same time....don't let your side fall out.....arrrrrg!" We didn't have a good, level foundation on the grass to keep it from leaning, so we all had to grab a pole and march in unison to the parking lot to play.  I had never played it before, but it was pretty fun...once we finally got all the pieces secured!  I even made it to the middle square a couple times...and I got Brad out of the middle a couple times...not sure which of those I take more pride in.

Brad, explaining the rules before we played.  It has been exciting to watch the group grow since we have been meeting in our Parma location for a few weeks now.  Tonight, we had five new kids...Praise the Lord!  :)

Our morning service today dealt a lot on the concept of building....making sure what we are spending our time and energy on creating with our lives is built on the ROCK and not on sand.....that our words and actions are used to BUILD UP.....that we are completely genuine and not like POSEURS who only hear God's WORD, but don't do it.  And, our devotion times for the youth have been related to a Josh MacDowell series called Christ, Up Close and Personal on being real with each other, realizing our extreme need to be known, coming to an understanding that GOD loves us, completely knows us and that HE WANTS TO BE KNOWN BY US....and HE wants us to MAKE HIM KNOWN.

No matter what our age....or maturity level in Christ, we all need strengthened and encouraged to keep going deeper in our relationship with Christ.  It is such a blessing when someone goes out of their way to know us, LIFT US UP in prayer and BUILD US UP by strengthening our heart with THE GOOD NEWS.  If you build it, build it on the ROCK.....and the house will stand.
