This little lamb has a spirit like the General Lee :) Maybe it's name is Dixie.
We all attended the Life Chain event in Jackson today to stand in support of LIFE and the option of ADOPTION. The perfect way to celebrate a birthday, right?!
We made Brad wear his birthday boy badge.
We chatted with the girls earlier in the day about why we were going to do it and what kind of attitude we should have as we stand, pray, and witness with our signs. Most people who drive by are very supportive, but it is also apparent that some stand in complete opposition. I have different reasons for this not being my preferred form of witnessing, but there are also reasons why I do it. I stand for LIFE, I want my kids to know I am serious about my beliefs and I will take actions through prayer and when I am given the opportunity to use my voice to stand for what I believe. I also think it is a powerful sight for our community to see people lining the streets in peaceful ways with messages of hope, healing, and forgiveness and I am happy to join with other believers in these endeavors. I don't know if me holding a sign can change a life, but PRAYER IS POWERFUL....that is the most important part. I pray that seeing all of us standing there may strike up some conversations that matter and lead to softened hearts that will listen to the Holy Spirit as never before.
While we were standing there, a friend from church walked down to where I was standing and she complimented me on singing in our worship service this morning. She knew I had been struggling with my voice for a while and she was happy for me that it is back in full force. I am so thankful as well....today felt amazing as my singing voice was not hindered. She asked me if God taught me anything through that time. I always appreciate her because she brings up issues that most people don't...I usually leave her presence feeling as though I had a meaningful conversation about life and faith. I had to smile as I connected today's message to her question. For me, that whole time was about listening....to GOD, to the words I am singing to make sure I am meaning them.....to develop a better understanding of WORSHIP outside of music alone - the whole Worship=Music myth ...understanding that it comes from the HEART and SOUL of who we are....music is an expression of Worship and SUBMISSION....that GOD owns me completely and he KNOWS me completely...He can give and take away as HE pleases because he owns everything, but He also knows what lessons I need to learn from HIM and the most effective way to tell me so I will listen ...but, I have so much thankfulness that HE always chooses what HE chooses for my good...WOW, he really loves us so much!

He's calling all of us by name....are we listening?
