I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

We had some BACK TO SCHOOL drama (is that surprising?)....so much nervouscitement!  Kassi came downstairs right after we tucked her into bed the night before... sobbing and saying that she was going to fail math.  Savannah said she only slept about 4 hours due to being nervouscited, Kenna couldn't find her class schedule when she was about to leave for the bus and she was concerned she wouldn't be able to get her locker opened.  Karly's hand was smearing the glass when I left for work..."Mommy, do you have to go back to work?"  Savannah got lost on her way to a class because "all the lockers looked the same!" :), Danielle screamed really loud and got scolded by the bus driver when a bee landed on her leg.  I came home with a new scar (not car, scar....weird story), a little foggy on what I do at my job now that I have been off for two months....I always have a learning curve when I go back after the summer :)

and Brad got stuck in a bunk bed the night before school started trying to fix the safety rail.....(very funny story involving Savannah taking his picture and sending it to her friends before she would hand him the screwdriver to free himself.  I guess he thought he could fasten it in and then get his legs out.....ooooops!)

BUT, WE ALL SURVIVED.....

In listening to all their stories at dinner tonight and how they survived their first day.....so much of it had to do with helping their friends or being helped by friends.... opening lockers, finding classes, sitting by someone who was alone, going back with a friend to get the forgotten lunch money, challenging friends to a peanut butter cookie bake-off (why? I am not sure, but that was one of Savannah and her friend's ideas for how to make it through the first week).

I guess it goes like this...

Tonight, my house smells like friendship with a hint of peanut butter :)
