I got home from work today and Vannah wanted to try doing some DRAGON makeup on me :P

I liked the concepts she found....now we just need to perfect the blending :)....we also realized if we cut the mesh from a Cara Cara Orange bag we can add the look of scales over top of whatever colors we choose....glad she is helping me!  :)

Grief is a crazy thing....I started thinking about my grandpa late last night because it was the anniversary of his passing.  He wasn't a perfect man, but I was remembering so many things about him that delighted me as a child and how he had so many grandkids running around, but somehow I still felt like I was special to him.  It always makes me wonder how he did that and how come so many years can go by, but the missing can come over me so strongly?  I know we are blessed to know people like this and it is a blessing to be a person like this for others.  I am thankful for the memories, for the understanding that I was loved, and for the hope of eternal life in Christ which allows for unending love.  When love is beautiful and reflects Christ...there is such a thing as happily ever after.

All I Need Is You
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuDnFOf_pms
This was one of those nice....we don't have any commitments....kind of days!

We got to visit with the Fosters for a while this morning and Grandma Sylvia gave Danielle a few tips for the flute.  Danielle doesn't actually start playing in the band until next year, but she is already picking up a good amount of knowledge of how to play from Vannah and Grandma Sylvia.  Danielle also found out this week that she was accepted into the 5th grade drama club.  So, in the Western School District, in 5th grade all the kids can tryout for a drama club which combines all the elementary schools.  We have found that it is a really fun way for our girls to meet kids from other schools who will be with them in middle school next year.  The drama club is going to put on The Wizard of Oz this spring, so Danielle has her heart set on Dorothy and we have been practicing because she actually tries out right after Spring Break.

Every time we have a pretty day the girls ask me if I am going to make my "famous" pasta salad....which I just decided to call the Kassi salad because she is such a RAVING fan...haha, so I made it for my family today.

Brad fired up the grill for the first time this spring :)....and Vannah and Kenna invited some friends over to hang out.

Vannah wanted to try making this brownie ice cream cake she had seen on Facebook....it didn't quite turn out the way she thought it would, but it was still scrumptious!

It's Not A Fairy Tale Without A Dragon, Right?

See, a dragon can actually be quite useful on a Saturday morning :P

I am amused and excited to have received the part of Dragon in Shrek The Musical.  My inner Disney Princess always hopes to land the sweet, pretty lead....haha....but this will definitely challenge me vocally so that is going to stretch me and get me out of my comfort zone...I am excited!

Karly and Kassi will also be in the show with me as there will be many fairy tale characters and kids chorus parts.  They are also looking forward to the opportunity to perform and have lots of fun!

I told my coworkers I got the part during a check in meeting at work and they definitely can't see me as a dragon...haha.  I work at a Christian university, so after our check in meeting we always have a time of prayer.  At the end of his prayer, my coworker said, "And God, thank you for our dragon....I pray she stays lit".....hahaha....most interesting prayer someone has prayed for me!

Hope Your Friday Doesn't Stink :)

I am having a little issue with Stink Bugs in my office at work.  They are such awkward bugs....they get into my lights, but they fly around like they are drunk or something...so I am always like..."Man, that thing is going to hit me in the head while I am trying to work"....I armed myself with an umbrella to try to stab at them in the light.....

I have probably tried to kill about 10 of them in the last two weeks....ewwww....and I am not calm while killing bugs :P  So, today, I was trying to kill one that kept hiding in the light above my head with my umbrella.  You know that feeling when you think you got it, but you cannot find it anywhere?!!!!!  I was looking all over for it in the light and on the floor....doesnt help that my carpet is the color, STINKBUG....haha!  THEN, I heard a noise and looked and it was ON THE HANDLE OF MY UMBRELLA.....RIGHT BY MY HAND.....AHHHHHHHHHH!
