Skirting The Issue

Apparently, ping-pong tables can't (or just won't) wear skirts!  This is what I have been told...and, in case you are wondering.... I already asked about kilts too because I thought I would try a more masculine angle...haha!

Everyone has the problem in their home with not enough storage space, right?  So, we have a ping-pong table and a foosball table in our basement now, but I need somewhere for all the girl's toys, stuffed animals, and board games and it makes me crazy that there is all this space under the tables that is not being used.  I am one of those people who feels the need to utilize space wisely...I deplore wasted space and I like everything I buy to already have a spot that it can call "home" before I bring it home.  (But, please still invite me over...I will not bring my weird space/stuff issues into your home....I realize not everyone is like me...I feel like that needs to be stated.) So, tonight I bought these black storage bins and filled them with all the girls wonderful toys and goodies and I put them under the game tables....and I am happy the toys are organized and out of the way, only I really don't like seeing the bins either....So, now I am trying to convince Brad that we need to make table skirts for the two game tables, so people won't see all the stuff under them and the basement will appear....clutter-free and well organized *insert sound of wind chimes here* or is that clean as a whistle...not a wind chime....well, those chimes pop into my head when I think of a clean basement.

My attempts at persuasion are not going so well...I think this will end up being a "home alone" project...if you know what I mean.  My help-mate will not be helping me in this endeavor :)  I have been researching table skirts for ping-pong tables and I have just learned that many tournaments use them because they keep the ball from going under the table...now, that is a great angle!  I am going to try that one next.  We could have a table just like the pros, Brad!  Wish me luck :)

  1. Maybe you can find a U of M skirt. That might help your case. :)

  2. But then you guys would never come over...or would that make defeating Brad in Table Tennis even more enjoyable for you...conquering Brad and the U of M table skirt to boot...haha....It all makes sense now :) That would balance out the universe because the table is green and white....yet another angle I could work into my persuasive argument. Thanks for the idea!

    1. I'm a michigan fan! Jeff and Josiah are not. So I'm all for the skirt!! Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes. ;)

  3. Oh yes....I had forgotten your house is divided :) Ours is somewhat too....I think some of the girls just like getting under Brad's skin by telling him they are State fans :) It's one of the few things that irritates him.....I think he always thought all his kids would cheer for his teams. C'est La Vie!
